OPPO Find series head Zhou Yibao has shared the first official images of the company's upcoming Find N5 foldable phone on social media site Weibo. While the images don't show the whole phone, they highlight the device's thinness when unfolded.
One image - pictured above - shows it next to two coins, while another - pictured below - shows it next to what appears to be an iPhone 16 Pro. In the iPhone comparison shot, the Find N5 is roughly half the thickness of the iPhone 16 Pro, which suggests it would be roughly the same size when used closed.

One other key detail shared on Weibo is that the Find N5 will have an IPX9 rating for water resistance, which means it can survive submersion and high-pressure jets. IPX9 is a pretty unusual water-resistance rating, but OPPO also used it on its Find X8 Pro at the end of last year. A proper IP rating is also a boon for OPPO's foldable; the lack of water resistance was one of the key omissions on the Find N3.
OPPO is expected to reveal the Find N5 in February, but it is likely this initial announcement will solely cover China. OPPO tends to announce its devices for China first, then follow up with global availability in the following months.
WhistleOut reached out to OPPO Australia to ask about local plans for the Find N5, but the company declined to comment. The Find N3 was the first tablet-style foldable OPPO launched in Australia, but only a small amount of stock was brought into the country with the phone quickly selling out. (There is no Find N4, due to the the number four's connotations with death.)
Leaks suggest the Find N5 will have a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16GB of RAM, three 50MP cameras, and a 5,700mAh battery. If the battery rumour is true, the Find N5 would have the largest capacity cell we've seen in a foldable so far.
