OPPO's latest foldable phone - the Find N5 - won't be available in Australia, an OPPO spokesperson told WhistleOut.
"We are always evaluating the needs and preferences of our Australian customers, and exploring opportunities to bring the latest in cutting-edge technology to the market," said the spokesperson.
"While the OPPO Find N5 is not currently slated for an Australian release, our commitment to delivering innovative devices that meet the diverse needs of Australian consumers remains at the heart of our strategy. We’re excited to continue offering a range of products that push the boundaries of design, performance, and user experience, and look forward to sharing future announcements."
Following several months of teases, OPPO officially revealed the Find N5 last night. Thinness is one of the key selling points, with the device measuring just 4.21mm when unfolded (excluding the camera bump). When shut, the Find N5 is roughly as thick as a regular phone. It weighs 229g, making it just 2g heavier than the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The Find N5's external display is a reasonably conventional 6.62-inch. When unfolded, it grows to 8.12-inch. Both screens have LPTO 120Hz panels, meaning the refresh rate can go as low as 1Hz to conserve battery.
Other key specifications include a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 512GB of storage, 16GB of RAM, IPX9 water resistance, and a 5,600mAh battery. On the camera front, the Find N5 has three 50MP lenses on the back: a primary, an ultra-wide, and a 3x telephoto. There's an 8MP selfie camera in each screen.
OPPO is promising four years of Android operating system upgrades and six years of security updates.
Since the Find N5 isn't launching in Australia, there is no local pricing. It retails for SGD$2,499 internationally, however, which would convert to just over $2,920 at current exchange rates.
