People say the darndest things in their sleep, and Huawei’s latest wearable - The Watch GT 3 SE - can track it for you.
We reached out to Huawei for more information about snoring and sleep talk monitoring, but haven’t heard back. For now, all we know is that the Huawei Health app helps track snoring and sleep talking, but this function isn’t available on iOS devices. Other sleep tracking on the device is powered by TruSleep 3.0, which tracks sleep stages, duration, and gives tips on how to sleep better.
In 2020 the cheaper version of the manufacturer’s GT Pro series was simply the GT 2e, but this year it would seem Huawei took some notes from Apple and went with the SE name instead. While this wearable is a step down from the GT 3 Pro, it has a larger 1.43-inch AMOLED display than the last model, is about eight grams lighter, and $10 cheaper at $329. We still won’t see NFC payments, or full compatibility with iOS devices, however.
Huawei also advertises a 14-day battery life for the new watch, which has become the manufacturer's standard over the past couple of years. Generally this battery claim has held up to at least the 10-day mark across a range of Huawei smartwatches we have reviewed recently.
The SE naming protocol isn’t the only inspiration Huawei has seemingly taken from Apple. Enhanced Cycling Tracking is one of the most interesting additions to the Apple Watch Series 8, and Menstrual Tracking is now noted as a prominent feature for the GT 3 SE, even though it has been available through the Huawei Health app for quite some time. Like most other period tracking apps, this one makes educated guesses about ovulation and cycle length with the data you manually input. No temperature sensors like Apple… yet.
