Everyday Mobile vs. Coles Mobile vs. ALDI Mobile: Data inclusions

Unlimited calls and texts are the norm these days. This means data inclusions are one of the biggest differentiating factors when it comes to choosing a new mobile phone plan.
Plus, phones today are our all-in-one entertainment hub. Between mobile gaming, social media, streaming music, videos and podcasts it’s easy to use plenty of gigabytes.
None of these telcos offer unlimited mobile data either.
For comparison here are each telco's cheapest 28-30 day expiry plans with at least 20GB of data:
Here’s how Everyday Mobile, Coles and ALDI Mobile compare in terms of data inclusions at the time of writing.
Everyday Mobile
Everyday Mobile has the widest selection of plans of the three with SIM-only plans, prepaid plans and long expiry plans. Its 5G SIM-only plans have data from 110GB up to 300GB. Its prepaid plans have a smaller data range between 22GB and 42GB. In terms of long expiry plans Everyday's options are between 60GB and 200GB data.
Everyday also lets you share your plan data with other customers. You can gift up to 50% of your plans included data to another person with an Everyday Mobile account. This doesn't include any bonus data or data add-ons.
There's also data banking which we'll explain later.

Coles Mobile
Coles month-to-month plans offer 45GB or 70GB. Its prepaid plans have 22GB or 32 for a 28-day expiry and 140GB or 210GB for long expiry.

ALDI Mobile
Of the three ALDI has no postpaid plans and no long expiry plans but the most variety of data options thanks to its family plans.
ALDI's 30-day expiry plans start with as little as 10GB and all the way up to 350GB of data.
Its family plans are available in 50GB, 100GB or 150GB amounts. They come with a 30-day expiry and the data can be shared by up to two, four and six services respectively.

Other popular phone plans
Of course, if you're looking for a bargain on a mobile plan, the supermarket telcos are far from your only choice. There are plenty of great deals to choose from. Here are a few of the most popular monthly mobile plans right now:
Everyday Mobile vs. Coles Mobile vs. ALDI Mobile: Coverage
Before selecting a plan it’s worth knowing if your new provider will actually have coverage where you need it. Each of the supermarket brands are Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), meaning that they use one of the three mobile networks across Australia and sell on their access to consumers.
Both Everyday Mobile and ALDI Mobile both use Telstra’s wholesale network while Coles operates on Optus’.
What's the difference? Telstra's wholesale
network that Everyday and ALDI use covers 98.8% of the Australian population this means most
customers across the country will get coverage - excluding some rural and regional dwellers.
On the other hand, Optus' 3G and 4G network covers slightly fewer people at 98.5%.
Read our guide to learn more about how network coverage compares.
Everyday Mobile vs. Coles Mobile vs. ALDI Mobile: 5G connectivity
While each of the big three telcos is in the process of rolling out their 5G networks, not every MVNO offers 5G connectivity.
In the case of these providers, only Everyday and ALDI offer it via Telstra. You can only get a 5G plan from Everyday if you opt for one of its postpaid SIM-only plans. ALDI Mobile's plans with 25GB or more come with 5G speeds.
Coles Mobile doesn't currently offer 5G mobile.
Everyday vs. Coles vs. ALDI Mobile: Perks
Just in case good prices aren’t enough for you providers are known to tap on some extras as a small treat. Although smaller providers aren’t known for big perks you can still luck out with a few if you read the fine print.
Luckily we’ve read it for you, here’s what you can get from each telco.

Everyday vs. Coles vs. ALDI Mobile: Data Rollover
Data rollover or data banking is a feature that lets you take full advantage of your monthly data allowance. In short, any unused data will roll over to be used in the next month or will be saved in a data bank which you can draw from if you run out during the month.
Caps and conditions generally apply.
Everyday Mobile
Everyday will let you bank up to 1000GB on its 5G plans or up to 500GB on its prepaid plans.
You need to remain connected to the same type of plan before expiry (or move to a higher value of the same type) otherwise you will forfeit your data.
Coles Mobile
Coles will let you roll over up to 50GB on prepaid plans or 500GB on its monthly SIM-only plans.
You need to maintain an active plan and can't switch plans without forfeiting your data.
ALDI Mobile
ALDI also lets you roll over unused data but it has no specific limit on how much you can stockpile. You will continue to accrue data so long as you stay on the same plan or move to a higher-value recharge. You'll lose it if you don't recharge within 24 hours of expiry or switch from a regular plan to a family plan.
Everyday vs. Coles vs. ALDI Mobile: WiFi calling
WiFi calling is a way to access phone calls without using a mobile network connection but rather a WiFi connection instead.
Each of these providers offers WiFi calling through their respective network providers. That's Telstra for ALDI and Everyday and Optus for Coles Mobile.
