Tangerine and More have recently enabled eSIM on their mobile broadband plans.
This brings the number of providers offering eSIM on data-only plans to a total of seven alongside Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, amaysim and Lebara.
Data-only SIMs are typically used with tablets to enable internet connectivity while out and about and not connected to WiFi. An eSIM or embedded SIM is one that is built into the device without the need to purchase and insert a physical SIM. The main benefits of eSIM are being able to get set up quickly on WiFi, especially while travelling overseas.
