Vodafone today announced that more of its wholesale MVNO partners will be able to offer customers 4G network services by no later than July 6.
The upgrade in services will be reach Lebara Mobile customers first, with 4G to be switched on June 30. GoTalk, Macquarie Telecom, Hello Mobile and Pivotel will all follow suit on July 6.
These follow fellow Vodafone network MVNOs TPG and Kogan Mobile, which already offer access to the Vodafone 4G network.
Once the upgrade takes place existing customers should find that compatible 4G phones will automatically connect to the Vodafone 4G network. The shift to 4G could technically mean a speed boost to 100Mbps, however speeds of about 30Mbps are more likely. Even still, this should be a improvement of at least 5x over what customers of these providers currently enjoy.
Vodafone is the latest of the network operators to move wholesale partners to 4G networks, with Telstra doing the same thing recently, and Optus MVNOs having had access to 4G for several years.
