We’re looking for someone who really knows their way around a phone camera, and knows how to capture great images and videos, to put the camera of the forthcoming iPhone 11 through its paces and find out just how good it is.

We’ll not only send you the new iPhone to test out, but let you keep it afterwards. On top of that, we’ll pay you. Think you’re up to the task? Tell us why below—and don’t be afraid to dazzle us with your skills and expertise!

Requirements
  • Must be a capable photographer who knows how to test a camera to its fullest and get the most out of the device
  • Must be available to test the iPhone 11 camera and provide a review of the phone's camera capabilities, including a collection of the best pictures taken during testing, within a week of receiving the device
  • Must be able to provide your own phone service for the device
What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be putting the new iPhone 11 camera through its paces. The new iPhone 11's camera includes some nice new features like night mode, ultra wide photos and slo-mo selfies (or 'slofies') and we want you to see what kind of performance you can get out of it in an array of situations. We're talking about low light settings, portrait modes, macro shots, panoramics, slofies and more. And showing off the phone's video capabilities as well.

You'll write a review of the camera based on your findings, and share your images and videos that best demonstrate what the camera can do. We’ll need your written review and content within a week of you receiving the phone, and will give you a review form for this. 

Responsibilities

  • Test the phone camera and use the provided log to report on its performance/quality
  • Provide insights into how the phone camera compares to other devices you've used and which camera features are the most useful and surprising
What You'll Get

The right candidate gets a free iPhone 11 to keep, as well as a $1,000 payment. We’ll send you an advance payment of 25% to get you going, and give you the rest upon completion. You can do all of the testing and reviewing at your own pace, provided we get your finished product within a week of receiving the device. Time is of the essence!

To apply simply fill out the questionnaire below and tell us why you think you’re the right person for the gig. You're welcome to support your application with evidence of your photography expertise, such as instagram account or similar.

Terms and Conditions
  1. The organiser of this Dream Gig Promotion (Promotion) is WhistleOut Pty Ltd, (ABN 14 130 446 267), whose principal office is located at Level 1, 115 Alexander Street, Crows Nest, NSW 2065 (WhistleOut). Valid applications will go into the running for $1,000 cash and a new iPhone 11 (Phone Package). 

  2. The application process is open to Australian residents over the age of 18 only. Employees (and their immediate family members) of WhistleOut or agencies associated with this Promotion are ineligible to enter. In these Terms and Conditions, an immediate family member means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin. 

  3. The Promotion commences on 6 September 2019 and applications must be received by WhistleOut before 9:00pm (AEDT) on 20 September 2019 to be considered (Promotional Period).

  4. Route to application for the Promotion and details of how to enter are available via www.whistleout.com.au/MobilePhones/News/iphone11-gig. Individuals may apply by clicking on the participation link on WhistleOut's website. Upon clicking the participation link, applicants will be asked to provide their name and contact information so that WhistleOut can notify the Successful Applicant of the result.

  5. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to apply. Any purchase or consideration otherwise given by applicants will not improve one's chance of receiving Dream Job There is no application fee and no purchase necessary to apply for the Promotion. Any purchase or consideration otherwise given by applicants will not improve the chance of a person being selected as the Successful Applicant.

  6. The cost of accessing the promotional website will be dependent on the entrant's individual Internet Service Provider.

  7. Any data usage in accessing the application page through a suitable mobile phone is at the cost to the individual. Individuals should contact their mobile phone plan provider to ensure this data usage is available within their plan if they are unsure.

  8. All applicants must provide their own mobile phone sim card and associated pre-paid or phone plan to use with the iPhone 11 and complete the review if they are selected as the Successful Applicant.

  9. Incomprehensible or incomplete applications will be deemed invalid. WhistleOut may, in its absolute discretion, deem that any application is invalid and such application will not be considered by WhistleOut as part of the Promotion.

  10. Multiple applications by an individual are not permitted.

  11. WhistleOut reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any application which, in the opinion of the WhistleOut, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the application process, who submits an application that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions or who has, in the opinion of WhistleOut, engaged in conduct in entering the Promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promotion and/or WhistleOut. WhistleOut reserves the right to disqualify the Successful Applicant if WhistleOut becomes aware that the Successful Applicant and/or the Successful Applicant's application is of a type described in this clause.

  12. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an Applicant, WhistleOut reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the Applicant.

  13. Applicants warrant that they are not precluded from participation in, and applying for, this Promotion.

  14. Each application will be individually assessed based on the originality and creativity of the submissions, and how well Applicants fit the brief. The assessors may select additional reserve applications which they determine to be the next best, and record them in order of merit, in case of an invalid application or ineligible Applicant. Chance plays no part in selecting the Successful Applicant.

  15. The Successful Applicant will be selected from the entire pool of eligible applicants. A panel of WhistleOut employees (Assessors) will review all applications and select the applicant who is most qualified in their opinion based on their previous experience with iPhones, writing, and/or reviewing.

  16. A panel of 3 WhistleOut employees will select the best applicant. Each Assessor has industry experience in telecommunications and has been selected by WhistleOut in its absolute discretion. 

  17. The WhistleOut assessment panel’s selection of the Successful Applicant is final and WhistleOut will not enter into correspondence regarding the Promotion result or the assessment process.

  18. The assessment will take place on 24/09/2019.

  19. The Successful Applicant will be notified by email and/or letter at their nominated address within 7 days of the assessment date. If the Successful Applicant cannot be contacted or does not claim the Phone Package within 10 days of WhistleOut sending the notification, WhistleOut reserves the right to withdraw the offer from the Successful Applicant and pick a replacement. 

  20. WhistleOut will notify the Successful Applicant of the steps for the Successful Applicant to collect the Phone Package. 

  21. Should an applicant’s contact details change during the promotional period, it is the applicant's responsibility to notify WhistleOut. A request to access or modify any information provided in an application should be directed to WhistleOut.

  22. WhistleOut reserves the right to request the Successful Applicant to provide proof of identity, proof of residency at the nominated Phone Package delivery address and/or proof of validity in order to claim the Phone Package. Proof of identification, residency and application considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of WhistleOut. In an event that a Successful Applicant cannot provide evidence to the reasonable satisfaction of WhistleOut, the Successful Applicant will forfeit the Phone Package in whole and no substitute will be offered to that applicant. 

  23. The Successful Applicant will ensure that they comply with all laws in connection with the Promotion and these Terms and Conditions.

  24. The best application, as deemed by the Assessors, will be provided with $1,000.00 AUD, as well as an iPhone 11. The Successful Applicant is required to complete a full review of the camera of the new iPhone 11 provided to them. WhistleOut shall pay the Successful Applicant $250.00 AUD with the iPhone 11 and the remaining $750.00 AUD shall be paid upon completion of the review by the Successful Applicant.

  25. The Successful Applicant must test and complete the review of the iPhone 11’s camera to receive the full $1000.00 AUD.

  26. The Successful Applicant must provide the review to WhistleOut within 7 days of receiving the iPhone 11 from WhistleOut, or such other time period as WhistleOut and the Successful Applicant agree in writing.

  27. WhistleOut may edit, amend, add to or refine the review at their sole and absolute discretion. The Successful Applicant acknowledges that WhistleOut may edit their review prior to publication on the WhistleOut website.

  28. No cash alternative to the iPhone 11 will be offered. The Promotion and the Phone Package is not transferable.

  29. WhistleOut reserves the right to refuse or allow a Successful Applicant to take part in any or all aspects of the Phone Package, if WhistleOut determines, in their absolute discretion, that the Successful Applicant is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the Promotion.

  30. By accepting the Phone Package, the Successful Applicant agrees to participate in and cooperate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests of WhistleOut relating to the Promotion, including but not limited to, being interviewed, photographed and/or filmed following the Promotional Period.

  31. In consideration for WhistleOut providing the Phone Package to the Successful Applicant, the Successful Applicant hereby permits the Successful Applicant’s image and/or voice, as recorded, photographed or filmed during their participation in the Promotion to appear in connection with WhistleOut or the advertising or marketing thereof, in any media whatsoever throughout the world and the Successful Applicant will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

  32. In the event that for any reason whatsoever the Successful Applicant does not take an element of the Phone Package at the time stipulated by WhistleOut then that element of the Phone Package will be forfeited by the Successful Applicant and alternative goods or services will not be awarded in lieu of the Phone Package.

  33. The Successful Applicant agrees to act in good faith in their dealings with WhistleOut in relation to the Promotion and comply with all reasonable requests of WhistleOut in connection with the Promotion.

  34. This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook. Applicants understand that they are providing their information to WhistleOut and not Facebook. The information they provide will only be used for the purposes as set out in these Terms and Conditions. Any questions, comments or complaints about this Promotion should be directed to WhistleOut and not Facebook. Facebook will not be liable for any loss or damage or personal injury which is suffered or sustained by an Applicant, as a result of participating in the Promotion (including taking/use of an iPhone and cash), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

  35. The Successful Applicant specifically acknowledges that the Phone Package shall be provided and fulfilled by WhistleOut, and that the Promotion is in no way affiliated with Apple Inc. or any of its related bodies corporate.

  36. The iPhone 11 and the $1000.00 AUD payment are subject to all applicable state and federal taxes which must be paid by the Successful Applicant.

  37. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders WhistleOut’s ability to proceed with the Promotion on the dates and in the manner described in these Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, WhistleOut may in its absolute discretion cancel the Promotion and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any directions given under State Regulation.

  38. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limit, exclude or modify or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia (Non-Excludable Guarantees). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, WhistleOut (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion.

  39. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non Excludable Guarantees, WhistleOut (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties, program or equipment malfunction including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of applications (whether or not under WhistleOut's control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any application or claim for the Phone Package that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by WhistleOut) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of WhistleOut; (d) any variation in Phone Package value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by  the Successful Applicant or an applicant; (f) taking and/or use of the Phone Package; or (g) any incorrect or inaccurate information, either for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Promotion.

  40. Risk passes to the Successful Applicant upon delivery of the iPhone to the Successful Applicant by WhistleOut. Should the iPhone be damaged after delivery to the Successful Applicant, the Successful Applicant will be responsible for any repairs. For the avoidance of doubt nothing in this clause effects any of the Non Excludable Guarantees.

  41. Any personal data relating to the Successful Applicant or any other applicants will be used solely in accordance with current federal and state data protection legislation. In submitting an application, each applicant consents to WhistleOut using their personal information for the express purposes of the Promotion and as contemplated by these Terms and Conditions.

  42. WhistleOut collects personal information in order to conduct the Promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, and suppliers of the Phone Package. Application for the Promotion is conditional on providing this information. WhistleOut may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the applicant. Applicants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to WhistleOut. All applications become the property of WhistleOut.

  43. WhistleOut reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who WhistleOut has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Promotion. WhistleOut’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.

  44. If for any reason this Promotion is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of WhistleOut, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion, WhistleOut reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the application process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion, subject to any direction given under State Regulation.

  45. All applications submitted become the property of WhistleOut. Applications will not be returned to any applicant. As a condition of applying for this Promotion, each applicant assigns, now and on a continuing basis, all of their rights, title and interest (including copyright) in and to their  review to WhistleOut including but not limited to the text of the review, any photographs, video or audio recordings produced by the Successful Applicant in relation to this Promotion. Each applicant warrants to WhistleOut that each application submitted is an original literary work of the applicant that does not infringe the rights of any third party. The applicant agrees to indemnify WhistleOut against all costs and claims by third parties arising from a breach of this warranty.

  46. Applicants consent to any use of their application which may otherwise infringe their moral rights pursuant to the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), including use of the application or review in the case of the Successful Applicant without any requirement of attribution, acknowledgement or consultation with the applicant.

  47. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions creates a relationship of employer and employee between WhistleOut and the Successful Applicant.
