
Telstra is on the hunt for an in-house video game reviewer and is offering one lucky Australian $25,000 for the job. One success entrant will review up to 10 titles for Telstra between June and November, and be paid $2,500 (plus GST) a pop. The reviews will need to include both a written and video component.
Telstra's search for a game reviewer ties into the telco's partnership with Microsoft. At the end of last year, Telstra gave customers the option to bundle an Xbox One onto their mobile plan or broadband plan as an entertainment option. Customer keen to add an Xbox to your plan have two choices. $27 per month will get you an Xbox One S and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. $38 per month will get you an Xbox One X and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. In both cases, you'll be paying off the console over 24 months. Telstra also plans to offer the upcoming Xbox Series X on a plan later this year.
If you're keen to enter, you can do so through the Telstra site. To be in the running, you'll need to complete an entry form that Telstra about yourself, your gaming experience, and favourite genre. In addition, you'll to provide a link to a video review you've created, and a 300 word article that describes you favourite parts of the game, tips, and who would enjoy the game.
Telstra is looking for candidates with at least several years of experience in gaming, but anyone passionate is being encouraged to apply.
Applications close at 11.59pm AEST on May 22.
