Optus will technically give you a free Apple Watch SE with any new iPhone 12, 13 or 14 series plan, but you’ll still need to pay something extra for it. New and existing customers that sign up to a phone plan with any iPhone 12 or upward will get a 40mm Apple Watch SE entirely free, but you’ll need to commit to a Watch SIM plan for the duration of your phone plan.
With the Watch Promo Plan, you’ll pay $10 extra per month which still ends up being a significant discount on an Apple Watch. Over a 24-month plan the total price comes to $239, down from the RRP of $479. If you want to upgrade to the 44mm version you’ll just need to pay an additional $50 over the course of the plan. The SIM plan comes with 1GB of data per month and will allow you to share your phone number across both your watch and handset so that you can take phone calls like a spy kid.
Regardless, you still end up with at least a $119 discount which is nothing to scoff at.
Her's a selection of eligible 128GB 24-month and 36-month Optus iPhone plans:
While all Optus plans are contract-free - so you can pay out your phone and jet at any time - if you terminate your plan before your contract ends you’ll need to pay out the pro-rated cost of the Apple Watch. On a 24-month plan it comes to $19.95 per remaining month, and on a 36-month plan it is around $13.30.
