HMD, the manufacturer of Nokia devices, has just unveiled a whole host of new phones, including the company's first 5G device - the Nokia 8.3 5G.
5G connectivity is obviously the Nokia 8.3 5G's headline feature, but the device also has a whole lot of camera. On the back you'll find a 64MP primary lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, said to have improved lowlight video performance, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth lens. In addition, the camera app has an action cam mode that shoots 60 fps video with enhanced stabilisation.
Key specifications for the Nokia 8.3 5G include a 6.81-inch 1080p+ display, a Snapdragon 765G processor, a minimum of 64GB of expandable storage, a minimum of 6GB of RAM, and a 4,500mAh battery. As with all other Nokia smartphones, the Nokia 8.3 5G is part of the Android One program. This means it is guaranteed two years of major operating system updates, and three years of security updates.
Local pricing and availability for the Nokia 8.3 5G have yet to be confirmed, but it will cost €599 internationally. That's about $1,100 at current exchange rates, but we wouldn't be surprised to see it come in a little cheaper.
Joining the Nokia 8.3 5G are the Nokia 1.3 and the Nokia 5.3.

The Nokia 5.3 is likely to end up on the budget side of the spectrum, with phones in the Nokia 5 family previously launching under $400 locally. Despite the budget price-tag, HMD is promising solid camera performance thanks to a four-lense setup. This is made up of a 13MP primary lens, 5MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth lens. Of course, no manufacturer is going to say their phone sucks at photography, so we'll be curious to see just how good the Nokia 5.3's cameras are for the price-tag.
Key specifications for Nokia 5.3 include a 6.55-inch 720p+ display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, a minimum of 64GB of expandable storage, a minimum of 3GB of RAM, and a 4,00mAh battery. The Nokia 5.3 also runs Android One.

The Nokia 1.3 is HMD's new entry-level device, pitched as more of a barebones smartphone that runs a stripped down version of Android, Android Go. Android Go is designed for faster and smoother performance on entry-level hardware.
Apps start faster, the operating system takes up less storage, and Google has redesigned many of its apps to be lighter and less data-intensive.
Key specifications for the Nokia 1.3 include a 5.71-inch 720p+ display, a Qualcomm 215 processor, 16GB of expandable storage, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear-facing camera, and a 3,000mAh battery.
We don't have local pricing or availability for the Nokia 1.3, but its predecessor started at $109.
