Boost Mobile customers now have access to international roaming again, with the telco now offering roaming packs for those heading overseas.
There are three roaming packs available, with pricing as follows:
- $20 International Roaming Small: 1GB of data, 15 minutes of talk, 15 calls, with a 3-day expiry
- $30 International Roaming Medium: 3GB of data, 30 minutes of talk, 30 texts, with a 7-day expiry
- $40 International Roaming Large: 5GB of data, 60 minutes of talk, 60 texts, with a 14-day expiry
Boost's roaming is available in over 40 destinations. These include:
Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, The Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Samoa, Serbia, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Tonga, Turkey, UK, USA, Vanuatu, Vietnam
While Boost's data allowances aren't overly generous, the per-day roaming rate works out to be less than $3 per day on the $40 add-on. For comparison, Optus and Vodafone currently both charge $5 per day for roaming. Optus offers 5GB of data per day, while Vodafone lets you use your plan's local inclusions overseas.
Vodafone MVNO felix does however have a $20 roaming pack with 4GB of data and a 365-day expiry. It also includes 100 minutes of talk and 100 text messages.
Boost first launched international roaming at the start of the pandemic in March 2020. Unsurprisingly, its roaming offer was soon removed from market. Boost's original roaming solution was just a single $60 travel pack that worked in 15 countries. By comparison, the new offer is much better value.
