Samsung has dropped three new flagship Galaxy phones, with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus once again reprising the spot of the middle child. It's not quite as flashy as the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but it's also cheaper.

The Galaxy S23 Plus is available on plans from Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Woolworths Mobile and Southern Phone. Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Woolworths Mobile offer the choice of 24-month plans and 36-month plans while Southern Phone only covers 24-month plans.

How much does the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus cost in Australia?

Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus features
The Galaxy S23 Plus is a fairly minor update over last year's model. The only significant changes are a longer battery, a better selfie camera, and a more refined design.
Galaxy S23 Plus design
While the Galaxy S23 Plus looks pretty similar to the Galaxy S22 Plus from the front, it's a different story on the back. Samsung has axed the camera bump this time around, with individual camera lenses protruding from the phone's back instead. This is the same kind of design Samsung introduced with the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Otherwise, there's not too much different on the Galaxy S23 Plus. It's a little thicker to accommodate a larger battery, but you probably won't notice unless you're directly comparing the two phones.
Samsung also says the glass used on the Galaxy S23 Plus is its most durable yet.
You can get the Galaxy S23 in a choice of cream, green, lavender, or phantom black. If you order directly through the Samsung website, you'll also be able to pick from lime and graphite.
Galaxy S23 Plus camera
The Galaxy S23 Plus has an identical rear-camera configuration to last year: a 50MP primary lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP 3x zoom lens. While the camera hardware is the same, the new processor should still bring some photo quality improvements - and there's a new astrophotography mode.
You do get a new 12MP camera on the front, however. This has faster autofocus and a wider aperture, both of which should help with selfies in low light.
Galaxy S23 Plus battery
The Galaxy S23 Plus has a 4,700mAh battery, up from 4,500mAh last year. In our testing we found the Galaxy S22 Plus could comfortably last a full day with a buffer, so some extra capacity bodes well for the Galaxy S23 Plus.
Galaxy S23 Plus processor
Just like the standard Galaxy S23, the Galaxy S23 Plus is powered by the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
Galaxy S23 Plus 5G
The Galaxy S23 family all support 5G connectivity.
WhistleOut's coverage checker tool has 5G coverage maps, making it easy to see whether you can get 5G. All you need to do is pop in your address when searching for a new phone plan. After you've done so and hit Search, you can jump straight to the coverage map by tapping See Coverage Map and then tapping Click To Activate Interactive Map.
This map will show you what kind of coverage you have in your area. 5G coverage is highlighted using the darkest shade of purple, but unticking 4G and 3G can help make it clearer. The drop-down menu lets you choose between telcos.
Coverage maps are only approximate, only show outdoor coverage, and may be impacted by local conditions such as buildings.
