Southern Phone is now offering a small range of family friendly mobile and internet plans that come bundled with Family Zone protection.

Family Zone is a service that can be used to filter adult content, restrict the use of social, and manage screen time on your kids' devices. Southern Phone's Family Friendly mobile plans include a subscription to the Family Zone app, while the Kid Safe NBN and ADSL bundles include a Family Zone Box (a central monitoring and filtering tool for your home network).

It is however worth checking out Family Zone's direct prices first. $5.95 per month gets you a Family Zone app subscription that supports up to three children, and $89 upfront can get you the Home Zone Box. You'll want to consider this when looking at Southern Phone's plan pricing, especially because the majority of the telco's Family Friendly mobile plans include less data than is standard for the price-point.

The Family Friendly 40 plan, for example, only includes 5GB for $40 per month. $40 will typically get you 15GB on another provider. The $12 per month Family Friendly 12 plan with 750MB per month isn't too bad though, given the value of a subscription.

Southern Phone's Family Friendly mobile plans are powered by the Telstra network. 

If you're looking at the Kid Safe NBN or ADSL bundle, you'll pay $99 per month. The NBN option is configured on the NBN 50 speed tier. Both have unlimited data.
